First owned by the Balaguier family (1280 - 13th century), then by the Lord of Belcastel, Alzias de Sauhnac and Rodez (1422 - 15th century), it was at the end of the 16th century that the Château de Fontanges was owned by Jean d'Autry, a merchant from Rodez.
